Sibel Sahin

Counsellor

My personal experience with Acne has been a long and continuing journey. I’ve suffered with Acne from my early teenage years, which has carried on into my adult life. I suffered with low self-esteem and depression due to my skin. It affected me to the stage where I didn’t leave my house and if I did, I tried to cover my face wearing scarves to hide the spots and scars. Within my journey, I noticed the lack of mental health support and this is one of the reasons I have chosen to join the team. To be able to support, guide and empower those who suffer from the effects of acne.

I am an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. My aim is to provide a safe, warm space where clients can feel understood, to help explore the depths of their thoughts and feelings, allowing them to speak the unspoken thus encouraging client potential. I understand that each individual experience is unique and therefor tailor therapy to the needs of each client separately.

My areas of work are anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma and depression so I use approaches such as CBT, Psychodynamic therapy, Inner child work, mindfulness, meditation, Art therapy and many more. The aim is to give clients self-awareness, empower and encourage growth, to overcome fears, have control over their lives and to learn how to love yourself.

I would like for clients to know that I create a confidential and non-judgmental environment. Sometimes we may just need a chat, to be listened to and heard and I can promise you that space. Therapy can seem daunting at times but it doesn't need to be. It can liberate you so I'm here to guide, support, encourage and go on this journey with you.
